I've done lots of laundry, but that's an easy process, one involving little thought. Rather more thought is required for the editing I'm doing, which has gone fitfully today. I'd really like to finish this round of editing before evening. The major consolation of doing it is that my writing really is generally as good as I was thinking it might be when I wrote it.
Perversely, the next section of the chapter I'm editing is called "The Practice of Writing".
