A year ago too, I first heard thatballincollig was thinking of coming to grad school at the University of Toronto.
But there's another anniversary, not a birthday this time, which has had a real impact on the flow of my days over the course of the last year. A year ago today, I first set up my NeoPets account. NeoPets is a combinations of Pokemon and a good solitaire games site. One of its major advantages is that it's updated and improved five days a week, which gives it quite a bit of welcome variety. It hosts some very good solitaire games too. (The bit where there's a virtual pet involved is largely optional - and it's not possible to kill them, just give them away.) But it certainly doesn't feel as if it was an entire year ago I first set up my account.
Tonight will be the first frost of the fall, which is a first, not an anniversary at all, but firsts have much the same significance in the cycle of a year. Tonight, it will be cold.
