I thought I might finally order some of the books which had been around on my wishlist for a long time, dissertation relevant ones. I was blithely moving books from wish list to "shopping bag" when something inexplicable caught my eye: what was Anna Karenina doing in the number one spot on the bestselling books list? Sure, it's a classic, the plot's good, and new editions come out now and again, but it's been out for a long time. It's been out for a hundred and thirty years or so.
The answer, for those of you who don't already know, is Oprah.
Looking around for more information, however, I found that Sean Bean played Count Vronsky in a 1997 movie version of the book. The book's good - are any of the movies?
