We went to Bluewater for the first time today. I don't know if it's still true, but when it opened, it was England's largest mall. It's built in an ex-chalk quarry pit, a mall in a hole near a conjunction of motorways. It was much nicer than that, really, still in good condition from not being all that old, but a large, fairly typical, but well-chosen selection of shops. We went for the furniture selection for a house we don't (yet) own, but all we bought were shoes and a bonsai tree. We also picked up a handy 2-for-1 coupon for the Eurostar.
Yesterday, the weather was dramatic - hail and clear blue skies within an hour. Driving back on the A2 today was no less so: here were the clouds. Later, there was a full arc of rainbow, running through the spectrum twice over in blue skies.
