They must have sold out of croissants shortly after they opened. I can, however, highly recommend their curried chicken and mango baguette (freshly baked baguette) and the strawberry-rhubarb tart. The rhubarb was especially tasty.

Perhaps I'll try again for a croissant when they haven't just been heavily advertising with a stellar review in a major city publication. Amazingly, stopped by there didn't add more than 5 minutes to my usual commute time, thanks to mostly good connections.

I listened to various radio stations today on the new radio. Which I could receive varied from building to building. By the end of the afternoon, I was listening to CHIN FM. I'd already heard the news and weather reports various times over the course of the day on different stations, most of them of the pop-and-news-lite variety. The headlines were on Holly's funeral, mad cow disease in Alberta, and that there might be thunderstorms tonight. By 5 o'clock, I was nearly done working, and news was on, this time on CHIN for a change. Strikingly, their news was much more well-rounded and not so Canada-centric - although they did cover Alberta, since the US has promptly put a beef embargo on all of Canada thanks to a single Albertan cow - better to be safe, I guess. Nothing wrong with Canadian Content ("Can con" as it's abbreviated around here.), but it was striking how much other news they covered. Unsurprisingly, several of the news items were about Italy. When it came to the local (T.O.) weather report, the reporter was using all sorts of superlatives, about how the streets were flooded, and the rain pouring down. Since it was all in Italian, I didn't take the superlatives all too seriously.

But the weather reporter was right.
