I aspire to being and sounding as productive as [livejournal.com profile] cwjat, [livejournal.com profile] aliciam, and - I presume since I'm hoping she's too busy working to have time to post - [livejournal.com profile] haggisthesecond. If I do 2.5 hours of work, then I'll be caught up on work hours for this week (although not the ones I still owe) and shall feel free to have a full half a day to devote to organizing myself, or just doing work.

But the question is... where to start? Since I have a nice collection around them, I'm thinking clocks and/or sandglasses are the place to start. Last I recall, I was going to write a series of 4 2-week essays and bibliographies on brief histories of my 4 technologies, gathering as many pictures as I can in the process. For now, photocopies are seeming like a better means for me to work with than scanning in my images.

So... I need to do work hours, make photocopies, and work through bibliographies to find more source material. And when I come home agian, I need to do some db redesign to make it easier to sort some of my dbs by categories.

By this time of day a few years ago, many of the east coast elections would have already been called, based on exit polls. The suspense will last a little longer, post-Florida.

I'm beginning to wonder about this week in the world of me and streetcars. For the third time in under a week, my streetcar was substantially delayed. Usually it's reliable. This morning I had a 20+ minute wait which, happily, went by more quickly than usual thanks to running into Jason Taniguchi at the streetcar stop. This evening I saw the flashing lights from the firetrucks and police cars at Bay and just walked. A streetcar finally came when I was nearly home, 35 minutes later.

For the second day in a row, I ran into English Dept/MA Latin Christopher around campus. And I finished my afternoon (pre-streetcar) with a nice, long, satisfying academic discussion with Jay, something which happens all too rarely these days.

And I started on thesis content collation!

C.'s new phone has arrived, but sadly, he must impatiently wait until tomorrow to pick it up.

It's not quite as exciting following election results via web page reloads as it was back when elections were called sooner. At least Vilsack and Harkin look like they'll be back in their respective positions. Missouri switches back and forth every time I look at their percentages.

Latin was an interesting challenge tonight: half of it was very simple - the half which was all full of biblical quotations. In the other half, Bernard kept making snide and ironic comments in his elaborately terse Latin - while I think I understood all the phrases, I didn't understand the majority of the overall sentences.

My family is scattered again - although temporarily all on the same continent. We should be reunited for Thanksgiving, part 2, though.
