As of yesterday, the U of T's library catalog was available via telnet. The advantage was that it was a quick interface, with less taggage to load, and navigable via keyboard alone. Today it is not. Try it. No longer there. Today there is only a version of the web interface. (Or try here if that doesn't work.) I understand the logic for updating, but would appreciate it more if the library computers allowed one to Bring-Your-Own-Mouse. Normal mice are designed for people with big hands. I have normal sized hands, and thus am much happier when using a nice tiny mouse.

Okay, so this may sound trivial. But I use my university's library catalog a Great Deal

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cliosfolly for mentioning the Monty Python stuffed animals and the plague domes... you didn't provide a picture of the Monty Python offerings! But I, being cunning, found one all by myself. I really like the concept behind the plague domes: A snowdome to represent each of the plagues in Egypt. They've only done two so far, but they're delightful. Meanwhile, have a look at the picture of the Killer Rabbit (with Real Chompy Teeth) from the Holy Grail. It's not quite as cutely lethal looking as Bunbun (as C. pointed out), but it's a winning concept. I'm less sure about the bloody rabbit, but the parrot looks charming enough. The complete selection can be eyed at Troll and Toad.

Oooh, speaking of Sluggystore... there's a Kiki forthcoming!

Well, technically it hasn't gone anywhere. It's just currently in the process of becoming an alien. C. monopolized my computers for a while, burning a Linux boot CD, although in the end, floppies worked and the CD was corrupt. Anyways, he's redoing my 3400 as a Linux box, with the idea that it can become the network server, thus giving us a much quieter server than his desktop. Still, it's unexpected to see a penguin perching in the upper corner of my old machine, and an entirely different operating system moving into it. I'm sure it'll all seem normal soon enough.

Okay, I haven't killed anyone or anything, including the laptop which looks as if it's getting on quite functionally without having to erase any of the partitions except the HFS main one. So that's okay. It's more that [livejournal.com profile] ivpiter makes 2 people I know I've found on LJ in one day. Hello, Iv!

And it's good to find you again after so long, [livejournal.com profile] ladyarren!
